About the National Conference for Sustainable Packaging

In-line with worldwide green trends, the National Conference for Sustainable Packaging addressed the importance of adopting environmentally-friendly packaging materials for the Lebanese industry to remain competitive, enter global markets and meet international standards.

Furthermore, speakers from top international and local companies took the stand to discuss some of their success factors when implementing sustainable packaging throughout their supply chain. Speeches also covered global trends and opportunities in environmentally-friendly packaging solutions.

Under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Industry, Frej Sabounjian, the event brought together ministers and ambassadors, industrialists and representatives of economic associations, businessmen and design agencies, as well as academicians and UN agencies. The event was organized in cooperation with the Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI) and the Syndicate of Owners of Paper and Packaging Industries in Lebanon.

LibanPack, the Lebanese Packaging Center founded in 2008, was established with the support of the ALI, the Syndicate of Packaging industries in Lebanon, and UNIDO MACLE project funded by Switzerland. The nonprofit private sector association supports food and packaging sectors in Lebanon by promoting increased competitiveness and compliance to international standards.
